1. Pleuritic chest pain may occur, but is not common.

2. The absence of fever, dyspnea, hemoptysis, and pleuritic chest pain reduces the likelihood of pneumonia, although these features are frequently absent in elderly patients with pneumonia.

3. Dyspnea, tachypnea and pleuritic chest pain are classic characteristics of pulmonary embolism. The diagnosis is facilitated when a patient with a risk factor presents with classic symptoms and signs.

4. Objective:To observe clinic curative effect of combined cis-platinum intrapleural infusion with Li Fei decoction in treatment for malignant pleuritic fluid.

5. Because of the increased mortality associated with misdiagnosis , consider pulmonary embolism in all patients presenting with pleuritic chest pain .
